Profylakse
Standardregime
Cefalotin* iv 2 g. Første dose 30 - 60 minutter før kirurgi. Varighet: Ny dose hvert 90. minutt så lenge inngrepet varer, maks 4 doser.
Ved penicillin straksallergi (type I)
Klindamycin iv 600-900 mg. Første dose gis 30 - 60 minutter før kirurgi. Varighet: Ny dose hver 8. time så lenge inngrepet varer.
Det er ikke dokumentert effekt av å forlenge profylakse etter avsluttet inngrep.
Etiologi
Staphylococcus aureus og Streptococcus spp.
Resistensforhold
Selv om resistensforholdene i Norge kan være gunstigere enn vanlig internasjonalt finnes det ikke data som gir grunnlag for å avvike fra internasjonale anbefalinger.
